Alzheimer's disease has touched almost every single one of us. Today in America, more than 6 million people are living with Alzheimer's and dementia, and there are over 11 million unpaid caregivers - perhaps such a person is a loved one of yours. The risk for developing Alzheimer's increases at age 65, and this dreadful disease claims the lives of more people than prostate cancer and breast cancer combined. One in three seniors dies from dementia.

As senior lawyers, we see the impact of Alzheimer's in our personal as well as professional lives far too often. That is why we are going to make a stand! The Senior Lawyers Division of the ABA has partnered with the Alzheimer's Association by joining their Legal Industry Leadership Council. As your Chairperson, I am honored to be a part of this leadership group of lawyers.
The Alzheimer's Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. In fact, they are the world's largest non-profit funder of Alzheimer's research, in an effort to find the cures!
