The committee provides support and assistance to local public service lawyer referral programs that provide information on appropriate, quality legal services to the public. We offer a number of resources for local bar leaders and lawyer referral programs.

2024 Joint IOLTA Conference

The ABA Commission on IOLTA and NAIP are excited to announce the 2024 Joint IOLTA Conference October 23-25th at the Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, California. The Joint IOLTA Conference is looking forward to being a part of the 2nd annual “ABA Forum on Building Access to Justice For All” which will also feature the National Lawyer Referral Workshop, and the National Meeting of State Access to Justice Commission Chairs (ATJ Chairs Meeting). The Joint IOLTA Conference planning committee is now accepting proposals for conference programming. Deadline for Proposals: April 12, 2024.

Biennial Lawyer Referral Census

Lawyer referral services often act as local portals to access to justice for those of middle incomes. For more than 80 years, lawyer referral services have referred people to lawyers and/or public service or governmental agencies to help them obtain the assistance that they need. They are often the first outreach for identifying problems and the first step in reaching a solution.
