Attorney, Former Mayor of Chicago

Lori Lightfoot is the former mayor of Chicago. She was in office from 2019 to 2023 and is the first openly Black lesbian woman elected as mayor of a major city in the United States. Later in 2015, Lightfoot served president of the Chicago Police Board and Chair of the Police Accountability Task Force. Mayor Lightfoot holds equity, diversity and inclusion, transparency, accountability, and transformation as important principles in her office. She is a recipient of the 2021 ABA Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession’s Spirit of Excellence Award.
