Homelessness
Adequate Housing Is a Human Right
In the early seventeenth century, Thomas Benton built a pigsty. It was so close to his neighbor's house that the odor of the swine made the home unbearable, "stopping...wholesome air." Benton's neighbor, William Aldred, claimed that the stench was enough to deprive him of his property and personal dignity and was, therefore, a violation of his rights.
