Best Practices for Section Engagement
Section Council, committee, liaisons, and task force members were all in attendance to share and hear from one another on best practices for Section engagement. Section Chair Angela Scott and staff provided guidance and information on the Bar year initiatives, Section programming, and much more!
CRSJ Volunteers
During the Spring Meeting, the Section held a friendly competition for a good cause, hosting its second volunteer opportunity in coordination with the ABA Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service for ABAFreeLegalAnswers.org. Going head-to-head, state vs. state, over 65 individuals signed up to answer pro bono questions. After a brief tutorial and message from our Chair Scott on the importance of pro bono work, volunteers separated into break-out rooms to discuss questions. The team that answered the most questions was South Carolina with an astounding 23 questions completed! Thanks to our generous volunteers for their time and expertise.
Held in conjunction with CRSJ's quarterly Council meetings, this four-part professional series provides insights and perspectives about pursuing a career in the realm of civil rights law. The third installment includes lawyers and former lawyers who are working or have worked in the areas of civil rights and social justice. They shared their strategies and lessons learned for balancing health and wellness while advocating for civil rights and social justice.
