The Afghanistan Response Project is a collaboration among ABA entities, members, and staff. As the world’s largest organization of lawyers, ABA members are well-suited to help lessen the burden of those suffering in crisis situations. Further, the American legal profession has a long tradition of pro bono service, as reflected in the ABA Model Rules of Professional Responsibility, which have been adopted entirely or largely by most states. The ABA thus encourages lawyers to donate their skills to the legal needs of Afghan refugees and those in Afghanistan who continue to require their advocacy.
